My Aunt and Uncle owned Tracey Garage ,his name was c.omar tracey and he was the son of C.C.Tracey. The land that garage is built on was originally a blacksmith shp and it dates back to the 1850's when c.c tracey's granfather statred his business. It was originally three corners because route 16 or sunshine trail wasn't opened until 1946.
C.C left his business to my uncle "bud" and he was married to my Aunt Thelma. My Aunt passed away in 1966 and My uncle passed away in 1994.
If any one is interested in any photos of original building and the surrounding areas i have them ,also showing the different phrases of the garage. did you know that Tracey's garage sold Esso and Sunoco from the same pumps before the Second World War and C.C had a 99 year lease with esso for 18 cents a gallon,I have the original contract too |
